Supporting Our Teachers

Teachers Matter

It has been a rough time for teachers in Keller ISD.  Even if they don’t loudly speak up, they are talking very loudly with their feet.  At least 10 of my kids’ former classroom teachers and educators have left the district in the last year.

Our educators are the heart of Keller ISD, and we must strive to make our district the premier destination for teaching talent in Texas. When we support our teachers, we directly elevate the quality of education our children receive. Right now, our community needs a proactive approach to ensure we are keeping our best educators right here at home.

To achieve this, I am committed to:

  • Competitive Compensation: We must offer salaries and benefits that respect the professionalism of our educators, while carefully balancing costs for taxpayers.

  • Supportive Environments: Ensuring classrooms have reliable infrastructure—such as working air conditioning—so teachers can teach comfortably and effectively.

  • Vital Campus Resources: Maintaining essential support roles, like librarians, special education aides, and counselors, who are critical to a holistic educational experience.

As your Place 5 Trustee, I will prioritize consulting with teachers to understand their day-to-day challenges. By remaining relentlessly focused on students, we can cultivate a culture of respect and professional trust. I am committed to working with my fellow trustees to build consensus and rebuild community trust, ensuring that our educators feel valued and our students receive the exceptional education they deserve.
